What this work covers
Good wallpapering begins below the wallpaper. The old finish is removed, damp and damaged areas are dealt with, joints and hollows are repaired, and lining paper creates a stable base. Only then is the finish paper cut, allowed to relax with paste, aligned vertically, and dried slowly.

When this work is needed
Choose it to change a room's colour and texture or replace stained, torn, or dated wallpaper. If black mould or a damp mark is present, identify the leak or condensation source first. Covering the symptom only gives the stain a new surface to return through.
Decide before installation
Choose the preparation standard with the wallpaper, not after the old finish has been stripped.
- Wallpaper product, feature walls, pattern direction, and batch quantity for each room
- How much existing paper will be removed and which cracks, hollows, or mould-affected areas will be repaired
- Where lining paper or local reinforcement is required
- Edges at frames, windows, switches, and skirtings, plus the drying and ventilation plan
