What this work covers
Sink and faucet installation secures the bowl and tap to the countertop, then connects hot and cold supplies, the waste outlet, trap, and sewer connection inside the base cabinet. The visible hardware may look finished while a loose nut or seal below is still leaking, so the work is not complete until water has been run and a full sink drained under observation.

When this work is needed
It is required for a new countertop opening or when an existing sink or faucet is replaced. If a dishwasher or water purifier is added, plan its supply branch, isolation valve, waste hose, and cabinet route at the same time rather than squeezing them around completed drawers later.

- Faucet height and reach and clearance from windows, wall cabinets, and the sink bowl

What to check on site
Compare the products with the opening first, then keep the cabinet open while enough water is tested.
- Sink Bowl and Plumbing Conditions Checked

Trial-fit the sink in its cutout and confirm hot and cold valves and the waste position. Plan dishwasher and purifier hoses where drawers and stored items cannot crush them. - Sink, Faucet, and Drain Connected

Secure the sink with clips and sealant and tighten the faucet from below with the correct tool. Assemble the outlet and trap without twisting their seals, then close the gap around the waste hose at the sewer connection. - Water Run and Leak Test Complete

Run cold and hot water, fill the bowl, and release the full volume at once. Wipe around the faucet base, sink perimeter, trap, valves, and sewer connection with dry tissue to reveal even a small leak.
Where problems usually start

- A loose faucet and stressed hoses An undertightened mounting nut lets the faucet move whenever it is used, repeatedly pulling on the supply connections until they leak.
- The trap leaking during a full drain A skewed joint or missing washer may stay dry under a trickle and leak only when a full sink discharges quickly.
- Sewer odour entering the cabinet Even with a water trap, an unsealed gap around the waste hose can let odour bypass it and enter the room.
- Moisture entering around the bowl A broken perimeter seal or early water use before curing allows moisture into the countertop edge, causing stains or lifting.
A few drops can remain unnoticed for a long time inside a closed base cabinet. Recheck every connection after a full day of normal use, not only at handover.
Keep product models and warranties, supply branches, trap and sewer connection, perimeter seal, and photographs taken during both flow and full-drain tests.
Timing and records
Allow about 2 to 4 hours. Follow the sealant curing time and leave the base cabinet empty on the first day so any moisture can be found quickly.
Retain product models, supply and waste connections, dishwasher and purifier branches, isolation valves, and test photographs for warranty and later diagnosis.
The sink follows countertop cutting and depends on the water and waste positions. Include any dishwasher and purifier connections in the same check.
