What this work covers
This stage fixes the bathroom cabinet and mirror through finished tile, then completes accessories, ventilation, ceiling panels, and wet-area electrical fittings. It may look like final decoration, but the installer must avoid concealed pipes and cables, support the weight safely, use mirror-compatible adhesive, and keep moisture and electricity apart.
When this work is needed
It normally follows tiling and installation of the main sanitary fixtures. Confirm the actual cabinet width, door swing, mirror power supply, basin and tap positions, and the users' comfortable viewing height before drilling. A product that fits the drawing can still clash with a shower screen or open directly into the tap.
Decide before installation
Set the layout around everyday movement, not around appearance alone.

What to check on site
Inspect the hidden drilling references first, then finish with real ventilation and electrical tests.
- Drilling and Bonding Conditions Confirmed
Hold the cabinet and mirror in their proposed positions and open the doors. Check clearance from the tap and shower screen, identify likely pipe and cable routes behind every drilling line, and confirm that the adhesive is approved for both the mirror backing and tile. - Cabinet, Mirror, and Accessories Installed
Fix the cabinet brackets into a load-bearing substrate, hang the cabinet, and set it level. Support the mirror for the full curing period, and place towel rails and other accessories where a user can reach them without striking nearby fittings. - Ceiling Dome, Fan, and Outlet Installed
Arrange the ceiling panels and access opening so services remain reachable. Keep the extractor duct open without crushing or sharp bends, complete electrical connections with the circuit isolated, then test extraction, switching, earthing, and outlet power.
Where problems usually start
- A mirror slipping away from the wall An incompatible adhesive or removal of temporary supports before full cure can let a heavy mirror slide or detach.
- Moisture remaining despite a running fan A crushed or sharply bent duct reduces airflow, allowing condensation and mould to remain above the ceiling and inside storage.
- Water reaching an electrical fitting Missing earthing, inadequate residual-current protection, or a cover that does not seal to the wall increases shock and leakage risk.
- Water staining the ceiling edge A break between the ceiling panel and tiled wall lets moisture enter the ceiling void and spread as staining or leakage.
Recheck the mirror and cabinet after adhesives have cured, not only while temporary supports are in place. A sheet of tissue held at the extractor grille is a simple way to confirm that air is actually being drawn in.
Keep photographs of drilling marks and likely services, cabinet brackets, mirror supports, extractor ducting, outlet wiring, and the completed seals for safer future replacement work.
Timing and records
Allow about 4 to 8 hours. Record when mirror adhesive and sealant were applied and when the bathroom can be used; do not lean on the mirror or spray it before the stated cure time.
Retain product names and dimensions, fixing locations, adhesive details, the extractor route, outlet protection checks, and final operation tests.
The cabinet and mirror should follow the shower screen and tap layout so doors, spray, and everyday movement do not conflict.
