What this work covers
Built-in appliance installation places the dishwasher, induction hob, and oven into openings prepared in the kitchen cabinets and worktop, then completes power, water, waste, ventilation, and fixing. Fitting into the opening is not enough. Doors and panels must align, hoses must remain open, heat must escape, and a heavy oven must stay in the cabinet when its door is pulled forward.

When this work is needed
It follows cabinet and worktop installation. Select the appliance models before the furniture drawings are approved; changing them later can leave the slot, worktop cutout, electrical capacity, water connection, or waste position incompatible with the delivered product.
Decide before cabinet manufacture
Use each manufacturer's installation drawing rather than the visible outside dimensions.
- Dishwasher and oven body sizes, door swing, and panel dimensions and offsets for integrated fronts
- Induction-hob cutout, ventilation below, circuit capacity, and hardwired or plug connection
- Dishwasher isolation valve and waste route, including a high loop and a visible service connection
- Oven ventilation clearance and fixing points, with no clash against drawers, handles, or plinths
Check in the quote
Clarify who adjusts the cabinets and worktop and who owns the electrical and plumbing connections.
- Is each installation drawing checked against the cabinet slot and integrated front panel?
- Are the hob cutout, dedicated electrical connection, earthing, and breaker check included?
- Are the dishwasher valve and waste connection, high loop, and full test cycle included?
- Are oven ventilation, specified fixing screws, and operation and door checks for all appliances included?

What to check on site
Measure the finished openings before unpacking, and test every connection while it can still be seen.
- Product Dimensions and Service Conditions Confirmed

Compare each appliance body and required installation clearance with the cabinet slot and worktop opening. Confirm paths for dishwasher hoses, the hob's dedicated supply, and oven ventilation, and open every appliance door to check nearby cabinets and handles. - Appliances Seated and Power Connected

Slide the dishwasher in without crushing its hoses, level its feet, and align the front panel. Seat the hob without stressing the worktop and connect it to an earthed dedicated circuit. Keep the oven cable free behind the unit and secure the body through its specified fixing points. - Test Run and Leakage Check Complete

Run a full dishwasher cycle while watching the water and waste joints and cabinet floor. Test every hob zone and control, then power the oven and operate its door. After a short heating test, check nearby cabinetry for abnormal heat, smell, or movement.
Where problems usually start

- Water collecting beneath the dishwasher A loose inlet or a low, kinked waste hose can leak or backflow inside a closed cabinet, swelling the boards before the water becomes visible.
- A hob that will not run or trips the breaker Connecting a high-load hob without the specified dedicated circuit and earthing can overheat wiring, cause faults, and repeatedly trip protection.
- An oven moving forward with its door Missing fixing screws or weak cabinet fixing points let the heavy appliance follow the door out of its slot when opened.
Once built-in appliances are finished, most connections disappear. Leave the sink cabinet open during the dishwasher test and close furniture panels only after hob and oven power, ventilation, and fixing have been confirmed.
Keep appliance models and installation drawings, measured slot and cutout dimensions, breaker and earthing checks, water and waste connections, fixing screws, test results, and photographs.
Timing and records
Allow about 2 to 4 hours. If a slot or worktop opening is wrong, do not force the appliance or cut blindly on site; compare both drawings and agree who corrects the cabinet or worktop.
Retain model and serial numbers, installation drawings, electrical and plumbing photographs, front-panel alignment, door clearances, test-run results, and warranties in one place.
